This is a little scene I wrote in about an hour after having a sudden urge to write something awesome. I tried to suppress my critical side as much as possible so I didn't get hung up halfway through like I do with most of my stories.

It's kind of an exercise in "dynamic description" - trying to build an image through action and dialogue instead of just the typical "The dragon was blue. He wore a green shirt. His name was Bluey" kind of infodump that I dislike so much. Pleeeeease let me know how it turned out, because I've been really trying to get better about describing not just growth but also like, how people look, what they're wearing, what the building's like, etc.

I really like the whole "he who fights monsters becomes one himself" sort of concept/theme. It's one of my favorite little motifs and it permeates a lot of my more action-y stories, and the latter half of Bluey's story arc.

I stole a lot more from Resident Evil than I originally meant to. MACRO is honestly supposed to be kind of a pastiche of STARS/the BSAA, but I didn't so much mean for Alexander to be so Wesker/Saddler-y, and I totally imagined the kangaroo talking with a Sheva accent. Also I guess it's MACRO policy to match every male dragon with a female kangaroo partner.

So yeah, I guess I CAN still write, huh *flexes*
