I don't normally post speedpaints here, but I'll make an exception for this. :D It's for anthro-fantasy-club's new icon. I didn't refine it a lot because the final icon is really tiny (seriously, look at it http://anthro-fantasy-club.deviantart.com/ ).

I could have introduced her with a new icon, but it would only show her face and I really wanted to include her jacket as well. So... I decided to make a speedpaint of her and base the new icon off of that.

I... have to say, that the eyes scare me a little. The fact I can see all around the iris bothers me somewhere deep down, where it just feels wrong. Maybe it's because the eyes are too big? Combined with the roughness of the image? It just... I dunno. Freaks me out a bit.
Other than that, it's a really good speed-paint, and I'm really digging the water and her hair and jacket.

Yeah... the eyelids were originally lower, but I moved them up because she looked really bored to me (which isn't what I'm going for at all :c). I've moved them down and she looks less uncanny valley now.
The image is rough because the final is only going to be 44x100 pixels. I'd clean it up, but there's no point to it when the final image is so teeny tiny (DA's icon sizes SUCK). Hopefully it'll look okay at icon size.

I hate to say this, but I think it's "my style." If I'm making a cartoony character, I'll always give them higher cheekbones to accommodate their exaggerated, cartoony grin. Is it the best way? Probably not, but I like how it looks. |D
