I read the first book, and actually really got into it. I hadn't gotten any of the others for the same reason- I didn't enjoy the last series nearly as much as the others. I don't know if it was just because I hadn't read any of the books in a while or what, so I'd say at least try getting it from the library if you aren't sure. I've heard people loved OOTS, and a lot that hated it, so I don't really know.
