Like it, love gryphs. However, I think you can really push the detail a lot more on the gryph in this piece. You could build up some mass by doing a little feathery detail on the contour line, and maybe have some patterns in the feathers show up on the back of the body.

Hmm, good suggestions and definitely something to consider for the next time I draw one of these, if I do.
Although, two notes I should let you in about about this pic and its "sibling": One, this was drawn waaaaay back in '98, second they were tiny doodles I did on a scrap of paper during, I believe, High School in class. Not really an "excuse" to explain the faults, just something to explain them...or something. Yeah.
