The background is to play on perspective and both make it feel as though A) The background is distorted and the character is not. This would be a social examination of how a person can be normal and everyone else be weird, and how the terms are useless :D B) It helps represent distortion found in most punk music, which is a heavy theme in this picture. C) It also makes it look like part of this picture was taken with a fish-eye lens :D
