I decided to make him an alicorn. If he's going to be an all powerful pony, he needs magic and wings.

Dark Pumpkin is naturally a superb dark magic alicorn. If there's a dark magic spell he doesn't know or has never practiced, when he finds out it exists, he is good at it the first time he tries.

This isn't as true for light magic. He wants to learn light magic because although he can get whatever he wants to accomplished with dark magic, it doesn't always remain safe for the other ponies. And there's also the part of a second soul... A very dangerous one that always ends badly for others.

He is so good with dark magic that he can use it to move himself and others around through time, universes, and dimensions. Certainly not safe, but for a pony so powerful it shouldn't be a problem, right... Right?
