The carbide cutter was broken so i made this ring in machining class this past week.
i believe its made from cold rolled steel.
used a lathe, a drill press, many files and 320 grit emery paper.
i measured the widest part of my pointer finger (3/4") and drilled the center to the size. (but i shouldve drilled a bit smaller since its a loose fit)
then i used the lathe to cut the outside and then files to refine the shape, then i did the sanding.
after that i did the paw print. 3 times.
the first two times werent successful because i was trying to use the drill press for the smaller parts, and it kept sliding on the surface. so i used a center punch and hammer for those.
then i cut it off the stock i machined it on and files and sanded the rough edges.
then it was buffed and i wore it the rest of the day.

some of my classmates thought it was a cool idea, so they began to make rings too.
one of them made one too small and it got stuck on their finger, they spent half the class taking it off D:
