They are a variety of soft pastels, from Faber-Castell, Rembrant, and the super-cheap Loew-Cornell and then Prismacolor's hard Nupastels over the "base painting" to sharpen it up and bring out the details.
The paper is the Mi-Tintes Canson paper, as stated, approximately 19"X25".

Yep! The key is to use the smooth side. The paper is double-sided, one having that horribly ugly tooth that leaves the art looking potch-marked, the other is much smoother. I always do a light mark on both sides to be sure I'm drawing on the texture that I prefer.
Oh, I think I've seen that paper, it's like fine-grained sandpaper isn't it? I've used the pastelbord made by amperstand that has the same type of texture and absolutely love it. Thanks for the suggestion!
