My current drawing/drafting table setup. The table is an old 36"x60" Mayline drafting table. Last night I built the arm holding the webcam for real media Livestreaming. It's pretty basic, a few pieces of aluminum, welded by my brother.
The insets, clockwise from top-left:
Microsoft Lifecam Cinema webcam clamped to camera stand.
Little vacuum tube headphone amp.
Griffin Powermate, used for rotating the canvas in Paint Tool Sai.
Ancient Vemco drafting machine, which I use for laying out the panels for my comic, as well as doing the lettering guide lines.
Also in the center shot, random drawing tools, a cheap light box, Wacom Intuos4 tablet, and blocked by the lower right inset is my PC, which is a homebrew deal, can't even remember the specs. It's just enough to handle encoding a Livestream.

I dig the Tube Amp. Did you build it? I haven't seen a drafting machine like the one you're using since my College days back in the 1970s when they were being phased out. (Gosh I still wish I had my Aerojet Surplus model.) Now I know what to do when my swing arm lamp finally goes dark forever. I have a similar clamp lamp, and it would be a simple matter of clamping the clip onto where the lamp was.
Yup, built it from scratch, to someone else's design. It's called a Starving Student amp, and cost less than $100 in parts. Here's an under the hood shot: http://www.rupelli.com/dump/starvingamp05.jpg
Good call on the lamp solution. I've also seen people use the arm from an articulated lamp like that to mount a webcam to. I needed something more rigid, since everytime I bump my desk, the camera would wiggle, which would be annoying to viewers.
I've always loved drafting stuff, so it's natural to have a functional drafting table. This one was actually my dad's, and was used in his business until the mid to late 80s, when they didn't have any hand-drawn prints anymore. I've also got a pretty huge collection of miscellaneous drafting gear, from lead holders to compass sets and some weird tools.

Hey, very cool! They're great for drawing or for work tables. You can actually still buy them, and they're really expensive. Is the whole top messed up or just the surface? The green magnetic surface on mine is getting a little messed up, but the wood is perfect. I actually thought about refinishing the wood with some heavy clear coat and leaving it bare.
