This also dates from 2007, and is not on the Newshounds site. It still quite aptly captures who I am. I love Alistair's dose of realism. He doesn't go far enough, though.

Yes. The 1930s, when kidney failure, a heart attack or even severe Influenza was considered fatal. Still, it would be fun to get a glimpse at those times to see how much was lost to History. I would like to see for myself if those stories my Dad told me of the Great Depression were true, especially the parts about being able to buy a new pair of "Storebought" shoes or a week's groceries for a dollar.
Heee look at your face XD Brilliant expression
A quote from the dude who ran #
Those who reminise about the good ol days probably never had to sit at the back of the bus.
Excerpt from "Sunscreen" my graduation song. (I was class of 97)
"Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will Philander, you too will get old, and when you do you'll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders."
"Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth."

That's a good quote for the situation, friend! A part of me looks back at simpler times, but I keep reminding myself that I love modern-day technology too much to leave it behind. I just wish that modern technology truly lived up to the ideal of making life easier and less stressful for everyone.
