Dozer is reading from the "Big Book of Naval Punishment." Everything he mentions was an actual naval punishment, during the Age of Sail. It was hard finding a list that wasn't just different names for "getting whipped." Actually, most of what he does mention is a variation of "getting whipped," anyway.
