An older concept of mine. These bats have luminescent eyes and skin, as well as a curious flame at the end of their tail. Rumor has it they can be used as living torches if they're tempted with the right fruit.

I am sorry, no matter how hard I try to ignore the obvious faults, there's just so many things wrong in this entire concept. The race simply would not survive. Fire + Combustible material like leaves and such is not healthy recipe for anything living.
I still do not see what the function of the flame bit is, other than it looks mildly cool but nature does not really work towards cool as much as it works towards practicality.

It's a fantasy game :V I have an allowance of ridiculous concepts before I start getting nagged.
so who's to say the berry bushes/fruit trees they eat from aren't particularly moist? and there's still insects. insects are attracted to light, and with these being a beacon of it, they'll come right to them.
and I never said they were always on fire - they might be able to turn it off :V

The glowing I get. In fact, it's a great idea and I really dig it. I could see the glow used to attract small insects like you said, as well as to blind predators when glowing very bright (in a dark cave, something like that would daze the predator. Being that they also use sonar, bats could even daze each others and still be able to navigate to safety using their sonar) or used in mating rituals. (Lady bats choosing partners that glow particulary nicely during season) The glowing would serve as all three practical areas that all animals strive for; for purposes of food, mating, and survival. So, it not only fits, it sounds perfectly plausible as well as really neat feat.
The fire tail however, is a bit too stylized and really does not contribute anything but to make the otherwise fine idea into going too far. I do not see how the fire would contribute to anything really.
