I grew up in that era. Sore, everyone denies it now, but everyone was swept up in it then - everyone.
Im breaking that mold. It had its moments and was right for the time but change swept it out fast - as it needed to.
Still, I find it a guilty pleasure to fire up my iTunes library of Disco here and there as the mood hits me.

I was a teenager during the 70's, in fact I turned 18 in 1977.
I just like some disco music, it was simply fun to listen to.
Now if you want the ultimate disco tune, try this cover of "Staying Alive," by...
Ozzy Osbourne and Dweezil Zappa.

which makes perfect sense because all y favorite formerly owned vehicles were '70's
My 1977 Honda CB750K
My 1977 Plymouth Fury with the 318
My 1974 SuperBeetle with the 2300cc VW Bus Engine and 2000lbs racing clutch
my 1978 Ford F-350 Econoline High Cube Van
My brother has a 1971 Super Beetle, and a 1971 M-813 Military 5-ton truck

I tend to love disco, myself. Much of it has to do with the fact that I was born in 1972, hence throughout my childhood, I became a fan of most disco songs as it played fresh on the radios. I'm also a longtime fan of other non-disco pop music groups from the 1970s like Steely Dan, Steppenwolf, and REO Speedwagan.
I can though take in stride the "disco is the Rodney Dangerfield of modern music". I understand that many folks would disagree with my music tastes. But for me the disco music is a lot more magical and beter on the ears than today's pop and rap, in my opinion.
