Space Battles 3: Extinction and Assimilation
this one was originally intended for the release of Mass Effect 3, but here we are. now, we pit the collective intelligence of the Borg against terrible might of a Reaper. whoever wins, we lose
Stats:
Name: Something Ominous
Franchise: Mass Effect
Type: Reaper
Faction: Reapers
Dimensions:
Length: 2 km
Structural Layout: Reaper Cuttlefish. Indeterminate weak points
Offensive:
• Hull (was shown ramming a Turian Cruiser to hell in Mass Effect)
• “magnetohydrodynamic” weapon on each arm/tentacle/thing, firing a beam of molten iron-uranium-tungsten alloy at relativistic velocity
• Spinal-mounted weapon, capable of tearing through very large ships with little effort (likely significantly more powerful than the arm-mounted weapons)
Defensive:
• Hull (hit a Turian ship, Turian ship hits you just as hard)
• Shields capable of withstanding several fleets worth of firepower
Sublight: Unknown
FTL:
• FTL Drive: Reduces the mass of a starship, allowing it to travel faster than light
• Mass Relay Network: creates a mass-free “corridor” between relays and propelling starships along these corridors fast enough to make the series ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ last less than 3 episodes. Requires a Mass Relay
Power Plant:
• Massive Element Zero Core
• Unknown
Extra:
• Capable of indoctrinating organics
• Likely use nanotechnology
• Techno-organic lifeforms
• Capable of making, supporting, transporting, and deploying Husks (Reaper ground force/drones)
--
Name: Cube ###
Franchise: Star Trek
Type: Cube
Faction: Borg
Dimensions:
Length: 3 km
Width: 3 km
Height/depth: 3 km
Structural Layout: Cube
Offensive:
• Tractor beam capable of draining shields and inflicting hull damage
• LASER cutting beam (exactly what it says on the tin)
• Missile weapon capable of disabling a Galaxy-class ships shields and warp drive
• Beam weapons (little data)
Defensive:
• Dispersal fields capable of disrupting sensors and blocking transporters
• The ability to adapt to almost anything
Sublight: Impulse Drive?
FTL:
• Warp drive
• Transwarp drive
• Transwarp hub (requires aperture)
Power Plant: Redundant power sources, capable of supplying seamless power to the whole ship even if one or more are damaged or destroyed
Extra:
• Capable of holding up to 3,000+ Borg Drones
• Capable of remaining operable if 78% damaged or destroyed
• Capable of regenerating (Q Who, Best of Both Worlds P. 2)
• Highly adaptive
• Resistance is generally regarded as futile

thank you
the positioning is fairly important to me
i want to represent both ships so that they both have the presence they should, without making one ship look like a behemoth, and the other like a bee
with the Reaper being 1 km long, and the Borg Cube being 3 km^3, there wasn't a whole lot of choice for me

Be good match to se, bad thin about reapers only way they travel through space in an instant is with mass relays. bord rely on transwarp conduit. Though the reapers been around alto longer and i believe their numbers rank in billions if not alot more since they able to extingish and absorb organic like and resources....also borg can only assimliate orgnaics am i right? never really got into startrek much.
hard to tell who would come out on top if both their collectives went all out at it. mutual assimilation seems most likely. it is literally both of their MO's. to my understanding, the Reapers are also capable of FTL travel without mass relays, the same way the Borg can go to warp without transwarp conduits. the Reapers only absorb a races biological distinctiveness (albeit their ENTIRE biological distinctiveness), whereas the Borg will assimilate your biological and technological distinctiveness. but that's all i know X3
Reapers would win, hands down. A regular sovereign class alone could carve up a cube with relative ease, and two or more have no problem. Harbinger is bigger and has a better main gun, so we could assume he would have less trouble. Plus, reapers have a multitude of ground forces, and have a stronger hull and shielding. Also, the smaller destroyers could land on the cube and cause more mayhem.
Sorry borg, you have gained the attention of those infinitely your greater

Actually, the Reapers are about 1 kilometer long, while the Borg cube is exactly 1 kilometer cubed, which means that they do have the advantage of mass over the reapers. As for their weapons, the Reapers particle beams would likely do some serious damage, right up until the Borg adapt. The Borg also have something of an upper hand in terms of weapon variety. They have multiple means of draining shields and carving up their victims. As for ground forces, it's uncertain exactly how many a Reaper can hold, but it is known that 3,000+ Borg inhabit a Borg cube. The ground war is something of a toss-up here. I think the most important factor to look at here is their individual M.O.'s. Both the Borg, and the Reapers assimilate organic life and technology. Given this, I wouldn't be surprised if a willingly-assimilated Reaper resulted.
WE ARE THE HARBINGER OF YOUR PERFECTION. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

I didn't think the shields in star trek could stop physical objects. The reapers (according to the Codex) use a liquid uranium-tungsten and some other metal alloy projectile that can cause significant damage, without taking into account the extreme high temperatures of the shell itself. The shielding issue also holds true to the reapers, as kinetic barriers do not stop energy attacks.
So, it's basically down to who fires first and who has the biggest guns.
