The first of four rounds between my Team Turquoise and Asuraludu's Team 16! Don't miss it!
I've never written a Pokemon battle scene and it's a bit short, so keep that in mind as you read. Thanks.

Rahne sighed as she hauled her considerable bulk into the arena. Emily seemed excited, but then, she nearly always did.
Rahne wasn’t too thrilled with the whole ‘tests’. Instead of studying or working she got to spend her time performing for the amusement for a bunch of old farts on the School Board. “If they wanted to see two people in a ring they should’ve gone to the ballet.” Rahne mumbled to herself. Then she shook it off and started to focus on the match.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. There. Now she was centered on the match. Vice-Principle Perjan’s glasses gleamed as he looked from one end of the arena to the other. He raised his arm and looked to Principle Feliduce. At his nod Perjan’s arm dropped.
“Begin!”
Rahne decided to take the initiative by charging halfway across the arena and then suddenly using Ice Shard. To the untrained eye this match seemed horribly one-sided. A slight looking abra against a large and heavyset lapras…it looked like Rahne could just send Emily packing with a flick of her finger. But looks could be deceiving. This proved all the more true when Emily used Double-Team to create an illusionary copy of herself. Fortunately for Emily and unfortunately for Rahne, the Ice Shard went through the duplicate.
Emily quickly bolted to Rahne’s left and decided to return the favor with Energy Bomb. However, she fired too fast before she’d gotten the chance to really aim it. Rahne was able to avoid it, and tried to use Confuse Ray but Emily was ready for it. She was a good psychic and possessed a rather keen mind…even if it was sometimes hard to see under her surfer talk and wing-fetish.
She proved that when she decided to use Focus Punch. Rahne flinched as she took the hit, but was large enough and tough enough to take it. She used Water Cannon to force Emily back and regain the initiative.
Rahne attempted to Tackle Emily but she used Teleport to avoid it. Emily gave that surfer-girl grin of hers as she started to Taunt Rahne. “Dudette if this is the all you got then I’m really looking to gorging myself when your team buys mine dinner. I’m gonna eat till I burst!”
“Eat this!” Rahne returned as she fired Ice Beam at her. Emily gave a very Cheshire grin as she started to Teleport out. “Duude, close one.” She reappeared right in front of Rahne before using Teleport again to avoid a second Ice Beam. “I would say to chill, girl…”
Rahne, guessing where Emily would reappear, fired Ice Beam to her right. “But, like, that would be an understa—YIPE!!” Emily yelped in shock as the Ice Beam struck her tail just as she reappeared, leaving a chunk of ice encasing part of her tail.
“My…my tail!” Emily was proud of her tail. VERY proud. She didn’t like it when something bad happened, not at all. Emily’s eyes opened a sure sign of anger and the unleashing of power in abras. “DON’T TOUCH THE TAIL!!”
Emily unleashed Secret Power. It radiated in her eyes and in the air as it struck Rahne who vainly tried to protect herself with her arms. It was an explosion of raw energy that even the much larger lapras couldn’t withstand. Overwhelmed, Rahne toppled over. She groaned but couldn’t get back on her feet.
“Rahne Lapries is unable to battle!” Vice-Principle Perjan announced. “The winner is…Emily Mentel! The round goes to Team 16!”
About two seconds after he announced it, Emily toppled over, asleep. “Zzzzz….”
