This has to be my masterpiece for the week. Also the first NON lion king thing I've done for a while. :p Not that doing TLK fan art is a bad thing, of course. Anyways. This. This was inspired by music, and not just any music. This was inspired by the songs of my world, the tunes I grew up with so to speak.
"A Dream Worth Keeping" from Ferngully
"Flying Dreams" from The Secret of Nimh
"This Land" from The Lion King
"Reach for the Light" from Balto
"We Are One" from Simba's Pride
"If We Hold on Together" from The Land Before Time
"Bright Eyes" from Watership Down
"Run Wolf Warrior" from Wolf's Rain
"Imagine" by John Lennon
"Man in the Mirror" by Micheal Jackson
and "We Are the World"
Most of them are soundtrack songs from various animated movies/series that have always, ALWAYS been a huge part of me. The others are songs that I've just always felt a connection with/very drawn to. I listened to all of these (most in instrumental form since I prefer to listen to music without vocals while I work on art) while making this piece. So there you have it. Such stuff as dreams are made of.
Now go listen to this because it has me in an emotional mess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJBlODUgcFk ♥
