Aseerif are nature sprites that have generally kind and happy dispositions. It is rare to come across a mischievous or mean Aseerif but it is not entirely unheard of. The Aseerif come in two varieties; the type who bring life to plants and animals and the type who usher their spirits into the next life.
Most Aseerif are small in stature and never reach a height larger than a small child but some are so small that they are no larger than a flower petal. There is no way to really determine what type of Aseerif they are, there are no rules to whether vibrant Aseerif rule over life or death and vice versa.

The most distinguishing feature about Aseerif are the small cages that hang from their ears. The glowing light held within is actually the soul of the Aseerif. It is taboo to touch another Aseerif's soul as it will instantly kill them; while Aseerif are generally peaceful and calm, they can become quite fierce if their souls are threatened.

It is impossible to kill an Aseerif in any other way.
Many Aseerif create strong bonds with one type of animal or plant and tend to them or their souls for their entire life. Aseerif also mate for life. There is an even distribution of males and females in their species.

They are ruled by a single King at this time (Clowesia). Their Kings/Queens are chosen depending upon how brightly their soul glows. Aseerif with brighter glowing souls are usually more important than those with dimly lit ones, however; there is no real hierarchy or class system. They simply turn to their King and Queen for guidance when it is needed.
