I find it interesting...this continues a phenomenon that I have been noticing. There seems to be some sort of connection between Foxes and Dragons... and no I don't mean THAT kind. There seems to be a lot of artwork devoted to Foxes and Dragons together. Even without noticing that, a couple of years ago when I decided on a fursuit...it was a Fox. Take a good look around the fandom and you might start to see a pattern develop.

I went to a Fox panel at FC this year and no one could explain it either. All I could come up with is that...yeah, sure, Wolves represent strength, leadership, protection of the pack and all of that. But, when it comes to the mystical... it seems that it is the Fox that represents the spiritual aspects of the forest and the Dragon is tied to the spiritual aspects of nature itself. They are both tied to the spiritual world of nature. That's not a bad place to be! }:=)
