I am NOT hiking up there!
It doesn't show well in the photo but the hike up that hill to those holes in the rock is very, very steep, close to vertical! Yet several folks went up there while I was in the area (it's what brought it to my attention).
If I was in my twenties I'd have no problem (I was overweight then too) climbing that, but now I'm just too old and worn out!
You can't see it well but about 3/4 the way up is a outcropping of what is probably sandstone which has circular holes in it maybe from erosion or maybe related to the mine. I'd have to ask someday.

i'd still be tempted to if i was there. very very slowly. depends on how far i'd already walked to get there though.
having been born in 1948, i sorta think i know what you mean. i sit here playing with this thing (computer) when i should be getting out and walking around a lot more then i do.

Lopsided?!
I always marvel at the ingenuity of design and unique solutions that my fellow furs have come up with in making fursuits. Ones from the best makers tend to look a bit "sanitary" or some term like that. It's the breadth and width of the design concepts and so forth that is what is so marvelous, anyone can appreciate my favorite fursuit maker: Beastcub. But fewer appreciate the ingenuity of the other designs.

Petaluma in the north bay (150 miles away from San Jose) has it's own pizza meet. After the wonderful pizza we suit up and go for a walk downtown and have a marvelous time! Sadly it's pretty far from me and I just don't have money to go anymore. We're so blessed in the SF Bay Area to have so many furry meets ranging from just chatting in a restaurant all the way through to the convention. PLUS 2 bowling meets, various yearly events like mini-golf.
Yea, they let me in the FC2012 parade but I would have had a major fit if they didn't allow me! It took a long time to get over the reluctance to wear the suit to meets and such. Including right up to the parade which I was determined to be in and would not let anything stop me. My friends encouraged me to do those fursuit things saying my suit was just fine. Plenty of home made poor looking suits and such at the convention. I chided my friend for calling one of them 'ugly'.
Sadly I can't get to those events or any other such thing anymore until things change dramatically in my life.
