I used to draw airplanes all the time as a kid, now I get to incorporate it into my furry art. It was nice finishing this as quick as I did, considering all the detail.
I'm trying to be somewhat technically accurate with these airplanes so they're believable, but there will most likely be mistakes. I always found it interesting that a lot of airplanes' designs are anything but sleek and cool, depending on what you find sleek and cool. But most aircraft have some goofy, 'in your face', caricature-like feature that defines their main purpose. And the more you ask of an aircraft, the goofier and ganglier it's going to look. The Luna V-11 here in the last panel has to handle huge weight and center of gravity ranges to perform. Right now it's parked and empty with a huge rearward center of gravity that would cause it to fall on its ass immediately. I realized this after I drew it, so I added that extra set of gear extending out the back of the fuselage. Not aesthetically pleasing, but essential.
I could go on forever about this stuff, I enjoy babbling about it as much as I like drawing furries.

Hydrogen and biogas, that's correct. I like throwing in little hints about their society's technology and infrastructure every once in a while. I can't do it a lot though, it takes lots of time and detail.
Dude, the Catlass is awesome, you did an excellent job on that. I've come to love the mean brute force look of fighters from the 50s and 60s.

Oh, and for a look at an older design of mine:

This is a really really busy day for the Keene Airfield apparently, unless there are a lot more planes over at the flight school building. I've only been to the tower and receiving area. Also I get to watch airplanes bank around downtown Keene to be able to hit the Nor-easter tailwind aligned strip they have there. Lots of RJs and Trainers in our airspace. On occasion we'll see some military planes and rescue vehicles. The nearby hospital has a fairly busy helipad too and we'll see them buzzing around northern Keene flying between Manchester and Concord (and probably Boston) hospitals.
It's both. Of course it's weight limited with VTOL. The VTOL allows it to be dispatched quickly and maneuver into tight spots or hover for search and rescue and such. But if you want to take advantage of its weight carrying capacity, then you'll be employing its STOL abilities.
Your deesign is awesome. But I agree. There is few things more goof-looking that, say, an Ipanema http://www.aeroneiva.com.br/pt-BR/A.....Eficiente.aspx
And if that`s the aircraft of the militia, I wonder what the oficial Siberian Air force uses

Is there no Maine in this universe? In this world , if someone was stuck up on Mt Katadhin then Maine Forest Service would provide the rescue. It would take too long for anyone in MA, NH, Vt to get there in time. Plus using a huge VTOL aircraft to rescue people on a mountain seems a bit much when a helicopter works much better. Sorry for being too technical.
There's no Maine. All of New England is simply the country of New England. A search and rescue would be handled by the New England branch of the World Alliance of Fur Nations Homeland Security Force in an aircraft based in Bangor. The Luna V-11 will work just fine, but without all the metal blades flinging chaotically about.
probably never saw it in flight per the info provided with the exhibit, that design uses less parts and less fuel than a traditional jet engine. Heres the link to the information on the air Force muesum web site http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/fa.....t.asp?id=12876
