Sunday 18th, 12:30pm.
Today I walked 6km in a rally that was against animal abuse and neglect. At the beginning of March it had appeared in the papers and on-line that the Walden Animal Hospital here had gotten a dog, they named Buddy, who was in horrible shape. They reported that he had taken multi shots to the head which were from a shotgun. The dog had having walked 3km, from woods to the roadside was soon to be dead, when a women found him and rushed him to the vets right away. It was said he was to make a full recovery but 2 days later he died from heart issues.
Soon, there was outrage within the city wanting whoever did this caught and charged. It was spreading out fast through newspapers, facebook, and any other media. This was the dog, Buddy the Hero Dog. He was the one I swear that broke everyone's last straw for animal abuse, and we decided to do something about it. Something that should have been done years ago. Fight for the animals, they do not have a voice but we do.
So on that day, people showed up wearing white to represent the lost of Buddy, and for thousands of others who did not have a voice when they needed it the most. And many more signed wanting the laws to changed which haven't been touched since the 19th century.
As for the guy who did this well, he is being charged with 4 accounts to his name. And the women who told him to do it, has yet to be charged.
Over 500 people showed up for the rally (if you counted dogs almost 3000 showed up), and in my eyes to see this many people fight for something they believe in, with a passion, to speak for those who have no voice, but remain in our hearts and families. It was truly unbelievable just how touching it was, it makes me believe that there is still some hope for our world.
