Nazakh is the son of a very powerful and long-established Chieftain in one of the coastal swamp tribes of Crocodyl in Oscurita. His tribe is divided, with a small portion of it being loyal to his aging and ill-minded father, and the rest following Sh'va, the Shaman and Nazakh's mother. Nazakh is determined to overthrow his father, but with the tribe weakened by a plague let loose on them from the nearby reef-dwelling clan or Carchar'octodonts, his primary concern is getting his people strong and stopping his father's foolish and spiteful actions of intruding upon the Cove's territory for fishing ground.

Nazakh is a warrior through and through, but his mother has made sure that he is also educated, and that he will at least try to think things through before going after it with aggression. But when it comes to the plague killing his people, Nazakh is all fury, desperate to find the source and a cure.
