A ref for females and children of the Crocodyl race.
Family structure is an obscure topic within tribes, with two different tribes perhaps having very different cultural standards. In general, males will take up to two "mates", of which they may share at least one with another male (this is a matter of choice on the female's part, the male has little say in it). The Chieftain of a tribe will have no mates, but will have mating rights with all females. Generally he will refrain from propositioning females who are already claimed, and will respect their wishes if they deny his approach. Females are highly respected in the tribe, having a great deal of power. The Shaman of a tribe is almost always the oldest and wisest female, or at the very least the female with the most skill in healing arts.
Males take little responsibility over their children, which hardly matters considering the heightened strength and hormones of females in the "mothering" stage, which is when they are carrying an egg and up until their clutch reaches adolescence. It is not uncommon for a female to deny even her child's father from being near the young one, especially in the early stages of its life after hatching. Usually when the child reaches adolescence they are completely free to mingle with their fathers, which is when they learn to hunt and fight. Females are generally more docile than males, but make powerful warriors themselves, though they usually prefer to leave such "idiotic barbarism" to the males and concern themselves with maintaining the village and caring for the young, sick, and elderly.
Crocodyl are mine! If I left out anything you might want to know, feel free to ask me about it :D
