Sorry, my keyboard fucked this up, I wanted to say: In which year does this comic play? I ask this because some things like the font and the planes in this comic look futuristic.

Ohhh! It takes place in the year 7003. Technologically they're supposed to be a few decades ahead of where we are now. I'll try to throw futuristic stuff in when I can. I hate to say it, but my imagination is little limited in that department.

Oops, made that sound a little bad. As humans went extinct, they handed the world off to the quickly evolving anthros, who practically had to start from scratch. They had their own stone age, medieval age, etc. The anthros held onto a little human technology throughout the ages, but had to wait for their brains to develop more to improve on it. This amidst a society of many thousands of different species all trying to get along with each other.

The comic takes place when things are really finally coming together for the anthro population. Thanks for the offer of help, I shall keep you in mind. :)

What exactly extincted the Humans? Or did they died out slowly?

Human extinction and anthro evolution I decided were coincidental but not related. No big cataclysms, no apocalyptic wars. I decided that the food industry in their infinite pursuit of super foods and genetically engineered growth hormones would be to blame. In their continuous attempt to make things bigger, fatter, and tastier, they managed to introduce a hormone that, once consumed and incubated in your system, made you sterile. Basically the ultimate irreversible birth control. Only took a few weeks for it to spread around the world in rice, corn, and wheat. And only another few weeks for every man, woman, and child to ingest it. Over the next 120 years everyone grew old and died. Everyone was healthy, there was no starvation or disease, especially with a rapidly decreasing population. It's just that no one could reproduce. And in an evolutionary blink of an eye, humans checked out and joined the fossil record. Can't imagine the final 10-20 years were that pleasant though. The remaining human population all over 100 years old, knowing it was the end of their species.

Better than an big apocalyptic showdown and ALL life dying in pain.

It does. Not just the individual coloring itself, but making each character distinctly different.

my favorite characters in the background on the lower right corner would definitely have to be the apathetic stoner....

Adam... despite his unusual clothing seems relatively normal.

And that fox to the way lower right seems to be looking away in fear... probably from the instructor's long speech and frightening cross-eyed look.

LOL. He's actually supposed to be annoyed at Adam sitting on the armrest right next to him, but either way works. And yes on Adam, he's a bit mouthy but a pretty normal guy.
