WAS thinking about adding a hint of curved horns coming into the forground, but am unsure. To me it currently looks generic and not very creepy.

ALSO I AM aware that the center skulls lighting doesn't quite match..Thats because I just threw the basics down for placement. highlights havn't been added yet

I think your def right about ageing the clock a bit, I'll probably change the clockface a few times before I'm truely satisfied with it. And i WAS thinking about adding spiders, but what unsure where..but I think I've got a few ideas now. Thank you for the input and all the compliments <3

Hmm... I'm curious what you like about it and what's bothering you. I think it looks pretty epic so far.

I really like the skulls with the glowing eyes. Nothing wrong with those, in my opinion. The center skull with the tongue that winds into tendrils is what kinda seems off if anything. The tongue maybe is a bit too "busy" without catching the eye? Maybe do something with the tongue to make it look less smooth? The center skull is pretty awesome, though. I hope that helps or gives you some perspective...

the two wolf skulls on the side I'm actually pretty pleased with and for the most part I'm pretty happy with it. It's the center one that i dislike. It reminds me too much of a cheesey metal alblum or something Meatloaf would put on their alblum.

I'm going for "very creepy, get me out of this nightmare" clock. And actually I was debating on putting a texture to the tongue or not, so that deff helps. Thanks :D

Hmm.... Maybe crack the the center skull? I've always found skulls that are battered in a way can still be very creepy. Maybe make it a wider skull, too?

maybe you could try making the eyesockets of the center skull less intentionally angry looking. ive always found that skulls that were natural around the eyesocket area are far FAR more creepy than those that people over-do to try and increase the creep, as it were

I think i completely agree with you on this and that might have even solved a rather large problem I was having with it

maybe go with a regular looking human skull but leave the tongue, but throw some texture on it. as for the skull maybe give it slightly pointed teeth on one side and leave the other normal... (dont over do it, thats why it looks like something from a death metal album cover at the moment) and maybe have a horn starting to break through the surface of the skull... with maybe a slightly scaly look to parts of it. (like obvious noticeable scales) the current skull is cool looking but this is my suggestion. ^ i would hope to see it when your done no matter what you do with it.

I agree about the centre skull - it's way too 'badass' (as in - metal album cover). Many people suggest making it more human. I very much agree~ Make it look more like just a regular skull...with only the top part (no bottom jaw)...and the long multi tendril tongue makes it look even more so metal album.....I'd suggest making it nore like a single tongue, with a bit of texture..kinda writhing down to the front to make it more 'creepy'.

What really helps a picture look 'horror' than 'tacky' is subtlety~ making the clock look more decorated with sinister objects rather than making them explicitly 'horrific'. I can suggest an artist on DA to go for like - really, really creepy - verging into tacky but still holds back enough to keep the effect. http://deino3330.deviantart.com/ (he does a lot of skull and bone stuff so I'd suggest this as a ref)

xD I think it helped quite a bit..I may try something completely different then I had before because of it :3 same for the artist I may keep the tongue though, I will deff give it a texture though. I also might have to incorporate some creepy crawlies now too xD
