This is a picture of a much younger Sanakuma, the main nemesis to D. Dan. In his youth, a really really really long time ago, Sanakuma was a nobleman and an ambassador in the court of Atlantis.
The people and race to whom Sanakuma represents are the Capricorns for the reason that he is one of their top nobles and he happens to be of the same race. Like many nations and kingdoms in league with Atlantis at the time, the Capricorns are a sea faring culture and are noted for their swimmers and other aquatic athletic abilities. Their nation is symbolized as a creature that is half goat and half fish because of their kindredness to the water.
Also in his youth, Sanakuma has yet to become a villain. At best, like most Atlanteans at the time, he was very prideful and sure of himself. To this day, he still is prideful and vain, but more so now than then. At the time, he was considered one of the most handsome and beautiful noblemen to look at. His looks were such a sight to behold that it is any wonder he became more prideful and vain than the average Atlantean.
At various times he also acted as a warrior and was noted to be as skilled and powerful as he is striking to look at. His skill and prowess in battle, politics and popularity with the people high and low earned him, by the royal family of Atlantis, to serve for all time and, to make this happen, was given the gift of immortality with out becoming aged, ill and have rapid healing if injured. Though he is immortal, he is not completely immortal in that he can still die such as through battle. His ungodly speed and strength, skill set, prowess in battle, knowledge of magic, extreme tactical skills and a genius level intelligence make such a situation near impossible.
He was not one of the key players that caused the ruin of Atlantis, but, by being one of the few unaging immortal noblemen among the survivors of the kingdom's fall, his lost position along with being disgraced by rival kingdoms lead him to bitterness and to underground lairs and allegiance to the underworld and its dark creatures.
He eventually plotted to take back at least some lost land to rule above again by raising an army of demons and other dark creatures. His bitterness was such that his initial attacks were brutal and draconian. His allegiance to the creatures of the underworld and the brutality of his demon army and himself earned him the label of a demon king.
Sanakuma took this new role for, to him, it was better than no role and his enemies now no longer mock him, even if he is still hated. After gaining some ground in former Atlantean lands, he was pushed back by a unit lead by D. Dan's ancestor. In the final battle, Sanakuma was injured for the first time in his insanely long life. After being pushed back into the underworld once again with an injury, Sanakuma found himself not only humiliated but, also, enraged and vowed a vendeta to him and every generation of his family for all time.
Sanakuma has remained in the underworld since, only leaving on occasion for various reason through the centuries either to move, plots against the Dan family or for temporary one on one battles with the descendents of the Dan family.
Due to his immortality and the loss of many records during the fall of Atlantis, the true age of Sanakuma is unknown. Other immortal survivors, folk tales and myth about his service and other exploits, before the fall of Atlantis and Sanakuma's fall from grace, put his age at about 750,000 years around some of the earliest dynasties of the Atlantean empire.
