My mom has been begging me to draw some birds for her kitchen. It has a gorgeous teal theme with little birds as the focus. Since she bought me my new tablet (and I seriously needed to do something til it got here) I decided it was high-time I make that bird for her. I decided to paint it because I just felt like painting.

So here it is, acrylics on 18x24 on masonite. This little guy is called a racket-tailed roller and has more brilliant blues on him but I subdued the colors to match her kitchen. This is the first time in my life I have done a painting just because I wanted to. It's very relaxing when you know you're not getting graded!
