so, i've created a species, called the katahmikan. the name is based off the filipino word for silence.

they have very thin, long snouts, and long, skinny ripped ears. their paws are more like a lion's than a wolf. they are immortal, and their manes grow with age. the one you see here, his name is ink, is the elder. they are nocturnal, and they feed on sadness and anger. they cannot speak, they use telepathy. each of them are different colors. there cannot be two white katamikan. there can only be one. their tails also have the texture akin to a rat's tail. each katahmikan are born without eyes. they use scent and hearing to navigate.

they are kind of like bigfoot; no one knows if they are real. but since they eat sadness, you can sort of sense when they are around. if you've ever felt your sadness suddenly disappear, that's because one of the katahmikan has eaten it.

the markings on each one are different, and they aren't born with the markings. the elder assigns the markings based on their skills and abilities. think of tattoos.

a little bit about ink; the markings on his face represent his ability to read people's facial expressions, even though he is blind. they are also a bit like a warrior's markings, and i gave him that theme because he protects his species, mostly from discovery of their existence. he has markings on his back because, in life, we often put experiences behind us. the X relates to the spinal markings; think of a treasure map - X marks the spot. in those experiences we put behind us, there are often lessons we learn. the X symbolizes that one life changing lesson.

it probably doesn't make sense, but for me it does.
