Um, I know my mechs.. I've been playing Battletech since before the missing were missing.. I have -scads- of minis, and most of the tech manuals, I CHOSE THE MADCAT BECAUSE OF IT'S NAME, AND THE FACT THAT THE MK II -LOOKS- COOL.
I'm not here to get into a "MYMECHPOWNZ" match, besides I don't play 1-1 mech dues, I go for lance/star and larger games and play combined arms...

I wasn't either, I was just explaining in case you didn't know. Given your whole 'well mine is pink and purple' retort and all that..
I admit I'm more of a casual interest battletech fan right now (normally I obsess faster, but the materials are rare here) but I've designed a couple. You'd probably like my ones, they use clan technology but are used in an Inner Sphere kind of way.

The entire reason to show this mini here was the paint job, otherwise I would have put it off on DA with my other mechs/tanks/warjacks...
btw, just a quick eval on your two favorites.. Pirahna, is good for mowing down unarmored infantry, but it's got tissue paper for armor, one hit with an C-ER-PPC, Gauss, or AC20 or Heavy Large Laser will core it, cutting off legs, would be difficult with it as you can't call shots without a targeting computer and 12 machine guns -will- scatter. Get behind em and hope to saw through back armor. The 25 ton Solitare is faster, more heavily armored, and can do the job at 5 times the range, and a single 16 point hit to one location will hurt lots..
Flashman's much nicer, reasonably fast 75 tonner, though I tend to perfer a bit more of a weapons mix, like the 3050 Marauder and the whole walking laser battery idea is pretty much sewn up by the Nova/SuperNova/BlackHawk-Ku triad.
Also the flashman and urban mech have really nothing in common, except looking like R2D2, the UM's a -slow- light mech, stuffed with as big a gun as possible, for city fighting, taking pointblank shots, then jumping away, Flashman's a fast heavy, that can fight at arm's length, the Hunchback and Fenfir are more the UM's big brothers..

True that the Pirahna isn't designed to take hits, but then again, it's designed to basically sneak up behind other mechs. I'm just giving you the info I got on it, from the battletech wiki and brick commander. For a light mech it has actually pretty good armour (4 tons of ferro fibrous I believe)
The solitare is good also, but I was just listing my two favourite purpose mechs.
The Flashman is an older purpose built one.
Urbie and Flashie are similar in design, the only difference is one was designed to attack, the other to defend. P.S. the Hunchback and IIC variant sucks. Armour too thin for too short a range.

o/~ It's not what you do, it's how you do it..
The trick as with any mech is to use it in the right way in the right scenario. You put an over specalized mech in the right scenario and it shines, the wrong one and it bites hard. The -real- trick is to turn any scenario into the "right" one...
