Quick and dirty release-versions of a couple of accessories on SecondLife. I meant to release these months ago, and never quite got around to it. Any ideas that might benefit the modding community are welcome, as is any crit.

These here are sculpts. No sense in ditching a tool that still works, yeah?
I've been experimenting with using mesh objects in lieu of prim ones, though. I can't seem to overcome the fact that mesh prims are treated as more than one... Maybe I'm missing a step somewhere.

there's a limit of a few million vertices, but other than that, it's not very limited. If you're using the MAXIMUM number of vertices allowed by SL mesh, you're doing something wrong.
I dunno. It just seems like the calculations are weighed to favor sculpties in lieu of mesh. Which is ok, i guess.

It's vertices *and* size. A mesh .1m in size that may count for 3 objects can be 20 when scaled up to 10m. It's an odd system, that's for sure. But at this point in time it's either retreiving the data for mesh from the servers or simply processing a texture locally, so sculpts still cause much less overall lag on the system, I believe.
I beg to differ! If I may cite noteable expert on the subject, Squeeze, his research in 1979 clearly demonstrated that cats are, in fact, cool, not hip:
