As for the anatomy- yeah, it needs a bit of work- but your best bet is reference. Any of those 'muscle mags' is fine- unless you want to learn from the pros :3
If that is the case, look for any books done by Henry Carmean, Burne Hogarth, Julie Bell, (and her 'husband' Boris Vallejo) etc.
Theres also many sites that have people that pose (and thats also the best way to learn your musculature) heres one, drawn by another master...
