Everything is played in one go, aside from the harmony at the second half which was added afterward for interest.
So uh yeah. I bought myself a very inexpensive Ukulele last week and I only started playing it this week, on Sunday I think. Firstly I played something else by ear, and today I decided to play the FF Prelude on it. It's pretty simple, but I think it's pretty cute. I have no real idea how to play Ukulele, but guitar technique obviously helps a lot.
Please don't tell me it is out of tune. I know too well! I really need to find some good strings for it as these ones are literally cheap and nasty, but I was too excited about recording it so here it is. Trust me when I say that I absolutely hate hearing out of tune instruments since I apparently have "perfect pitch"... so this is pretty frustrating for me XD I keep tuning it every few minutes because I am so irritated by it... but ho hum :3
Thought I'd share my new toy :D Anyone looking for a cheerful little instrument to start playing, I highly suggest one of these.
I recorded this with
Meeya07 in mind. He cleaned this up for me :) he always helps me so much. Thank you Meeya :D

I wondered if that was what you meant XD oops~! Well I started learning when I was 8... and I am 27 in a month's time XD so a long time, but I stopped taking lessons when I was about 14. I was never taught any theory and I can't read music to save my life :| I do everything by ear, which in some ways is quite good but it means I don't benefit from just picking up a sheet of music and playing it by reading :|
Honestly I'm just so lazy and have a short attention span for music and art, I wish I wasn't like that but I find it hard to want to work on things for too long. I would definitely need guidance so maybe some day I will go to a music teacher and learn theory roperly, I would love to one day have piano lessons. I would adore that. X3
Thank you so much ^^;! Well the strings take a while to settle in at first so that they stay in tune, and the Ukulele is very difficult to get used to for me going from a big guitar to a tiny little one so my fingers push a bit hard which makes the notes a bit sharp sometimes X3 it's probably only noticable to myself an others who have good hearing in a music sense XD but I really wanted to hear how it sounded recorded anyway :3 Thank you for lsitening, I appreciate it a lot!
Yeah! I prefer to pick it like this instead of strumming it but it's very cheerful and pleasant X3 This is a soprano so the highest and smallest of all the Ukes out there. I am very tempted to go out and get other ones but I don't have the room (even though they're small XD)!
Wait a sec, you've never played this instrument before, and never played this song by ear before,
and THIS is what you can do? This is what you're complaining about?!
Seriously, are you a robot? Or some perfect space-alien-angel from heaven?
It's almost scary how talented you are.

LOL your comment XD I laughed. I wish I was a space-alien-angel. That sounds pretty bloody awesome actually.
I am not complaining really ;o; just the tuning bugs me and I didn't want people telling me off for not tuning the Ukulele XD That's all. It's mostly nerves.
^^ Thank you very much for your encouragement. I seriously lack confidence so every good comment I get makes me feel a little less awkward and a bit more acceptable.
Very pleased you like my little "cover" of this. I had a lot of fun doing it.

^_^;; man it seriously makes me cringe every note tha's even just a tiny bit out. Most people think I am bonkers because they don't hear it. Not in this case, I think it's fairly clear there are duff notes in there XD Many of them. The issue at the moment is the strings being cheap and tacky so I am going to buy some nice ones and see how they sound. The other issue is after playing the acoustic guitar it's difficult to hold back on the finger pressure on the tiny frets on the Ukulele, which greatly affects the pitch of the notes. I'm going to have to try and learn not to push so hard.
Thank you for seeing past it :D I am quite pleased with it actually ^o^!

It's quite alright, you gave a fair 'warning' what to expect, so it's not actually that hard to concentrate on what's actually happening.
As for the guitar playing itself, I struggle enoough with playing a regular one myself (mostly for being such a loser with practising), so I'm mostly certainly being the last to criticize in that regard XD
Nevertheless I'm confident once it has proper strings to hold the tuning it'll sound a lot better

If you have played ff7 you may recognise it from the start of that, I think it is the title screen theme. I think it is referred to as the Prelude and is in a few of the earlier games. :3 it may not be recognisable because the way I played it is different in terms of timing and the picking patern might have confused you a bit.
And thank you... I find it really hard to accept when people say things like that and I feel shy about compliments. I do really appreciate the feedback :3

I believe it is known as the Prelude theme for a few of the earlier games. If you have played ff7 it is the prelude for that, it is most recognisable from there I think. It plays at the title I think. :3 I've always liked the theme, simple as it is. For some reason it is beautiful.
Thank you very much :D!
Thank you very much :D!
It's so pretty!! I love the Ukulele and also play but I am an absolute NOOBCAKE!! I've had a ukulele and played on and off for about 3-4 years but I am still really terrible. So I am incredibly jealous lol. I've tried playing guitar before but I just don't get on with it well for some reason. In any case, you are very talented!! 8D
Hey ^^ I am sorry this is so late! But I finally got back to this account and I am trying to catch up :) I appreciate you listening to my music so thank you, and I am pleased you have an Uke too :D They are such happy little instruments I think. I also love how delicate and cute they sound. Thank you so much for your compliments, it means a lot to me ! x
