I was going through some old homework and drawings from like second grade and I found this little story I wrote about a creature, proving that I was making sparkledogs before it was cool. Marvel at my 7-year-old novelist skills:
There once was a Zingdingdilly who lived by himself in the jungle. He had no friends because he looked weird. He didn't know anybody. He was sad. He ran away to the woods. In the woods, he met a winged cat. "Hello," said the winged cat.
"I can't be your friend," said the Zingdingdilly. "I look weird."
"So?" said the winged cat. "I look weird too."
"Okay!" said the Zingdingdilly. So they went on until they met a winged Doberman. "Hi," he said. And they became friends.
On their way, they met a wolf with 2 tails. "EEK!" he shouted.
"It's okay," said the Doberman.
"Oh," said the wolf. So they went on. All of them. Walking and walking until they found a 2 tailed ocelot. He joined them and they found a three tailed hyena. He liked them. So they found a four legged bird. He came with them.
Then, one day, the Zingdingdilly wandered away from his friends. Then he got captured for the zoo. He was sad again. Lots of people came to see him. At night, he saw his friends were in the cage next to him. They had a winged Chihuahua with them. "Hi," he said. Then he tried to slip through the bars of the cage. He did and he unlocked the cages and they all went home.
THE END
I realized too late that the brown thing on the Zingdingdilly's head was probably supposed to be an antler and not a tree in the background, oh well. Since antlers get shed we can just assume he's waiting for them to grow back! why am I putting so much thought into this
