You'll find silence isn't really golden.

It's kinda... rusted copper, I guess? Like, you can fix it with enough work, but that awkwardness will still have happened and it'll kinda frustrate everyone randomly at some point or another.

Just keep some kind of sound going and shit won't get too awkward. Even if the phrases are slightly awkward, better than that giant awkward pause!

I think it's best that people unlearn that lie hammered into them by movie theaters. Sure, in those, you should be quiet, but these people take the silence out with them and ... yeah, it's not very cool.
