This.......


You know, this requires a long explonation, so I hope you're in the mood for it.

On one beautiful day, the idea of "an unofficial couple/pairing" hit my mind without a reason. It was of two characters from a game I haven't played nor will I ever come to play in fear of being disappointed utterly: The Legend of Spyro series.

For a long time, the idea of the two characters, Volteer the Guardian of Lightning and Malefor the "big bad evil" being a couple was rolling in my mind and thoughts. I didn't know why it hit me so I started to think for a long, long time what's so interesting in an idea that seems to be only making some of the more hardcore fans of the series drive themselves nuts and several other people facepalm at the thought of it. During the LiveStream, I had my answers up and thanks to  let who had played the games before could also fill in the info about the characters.

With his info and my thoughts, this is the reason why:

Volteer, who I've chosen from what I've heard as my favourite, seems to be very kind of a person via his personality, despite being a massive chatterbox of a speaker. The kindness leads to the fact that he is capable of understanding others feelings as well as problems that are crushing them down from the inside and therefor, would be an ideal character to talk to, even though there'd be alot of technobabble going on. That and I do think that compared to the rest of the guardians, he seems to be largely ignored due to his speaking talent and therefor gets to be the one in the corner who no one dares to talk with, because it'd last long.

Malefor, the purple dragon of pure evil, wasn't always evil from what I've come to know. Sure, he has some size on him and his voice is distorted beyon belief (despite that from one clip that I dared to listen on YouTube, I understood his words just fine), but the evilness kicked into him when he was seen as a possible threath of becoming too powerful and therefor, would suddenly become evil with the use of dark arts. He got exiled quite quickly and from that day forward, he has seen the life as a worthless thing and it needs to be removed, triggering the motion of the "evilness". So he has experienced the harsher thing, sending him into a suicidal madness. But I belive that deep down in his mind, he wouldn't want anything but return back in time and avoid the situation.

So much backstory, I know.....but by now you should get the idea what I'm after:

Volteer is the kindhearted character capable of understanding the pain because he knows a bit how it feels like to be rejected. Malefor has experienced a massive level of rejection due to assumed fear that made Malefor be banished from the lands he once was in. Both are capable on defending themselves, but Malefor is physically and magically the powerful one. Both have basic understanding of "mental pain", but Volteer is stronger enough to overcome it and become a helpful friend in need. Both characters are opposites in their own respectable way from each other and yet, able to form up a balance because of the opposite effects they both have, the other being stronger in something than the other and vice versa in several things. Volteer's trustworthy nature would help Malefor in his darkest moments, while creating a bond so strong with Volteer that Malefor would be more than willing to help him in return. Such a deep bond, in fact, that both characters could be capable of becoming unseperateable, irrisplaceable. While impossible in official way, in unofficial, overanalyzing and overthinking way, it'd be quite possible with the right circumstances, therefor creating perhasply one of the best couples that are opposite from each other, yet share something with each other enough to build their relations, trust and even emotionally strong bond between each other.

TL;DR: The idea hit me randomly, I thought about it for a long time and I found it out to be actually very appealing from an overanalyzed point of view and therefor, wanted to make it happen.

With that reason in my mind (and hopefully yours as well), I drew Volteer x Malefor picture. But the kind that should effect anyone inside the chest in some "positive" way. Just to put more emphasis upon the fact how in the following universe in my head the two characters are already at a very, very deep bond, I even drew them both as kids, showing that Volteer was capable on helping Malefor early on, able to form a true friendship so valuable, that it's unbreakable.


This picture concludes my LONGEST LiveStream yet (12 fucking hours!) and therefor, this was my first "LiveStream Special" picture. I myself feel it's worth the title of "Featured Submission".
