This is Ailen's emblem. It was carved into the stone from which he was birthed, and adorns the tapestries in his hall, as well as the pendant he wears about his neck. The ancient Celts used swirls to represent celestial bodies in the sky, including the sun. The decorations and charts found within and without Newgrange are the best examples that we have, today, of this sort of artistry.
This symbol is supposed to resemble a bird and a flame at once, with triple swirls (the power of three).
