"Crap...oh crap crap crap crap CRAP! It's over. It's all over! I'm so screwed" The voice of the client squeaked out in a rather annoyingly obvious panic. The coyote would smack his head to the table, sweat rolling down his face as his hands clenched to fists. And right beside him, remaining cool as a cucumber, was his attorney. Normally, the man in question would be the one interrogating the answers out of the opposite side. However, this was a very special case. A friend of his had been framed for murder, the client on the side with the prosecution.
The man would hold up a mug to his lips, sipping the pitch black liquid which set his throat ablaze with warmth. The hybrid would lower his mug and reply with a slight smirk, wiping his maw a bit with a suave, and cool voice. "On the contrary, my friend. You're off the hook. Just sit back and watch the fireworks."
Naturally, his friend questioned how he could be so calm at a time like this, when it looked as though all was lost. "Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than the depths of hell itself...That is coffee."
It came time for Theodore to engage in the Cross-Examination; the part of the trial where he, the Defense must review the key witness' testimony, and then point out what is truth, or lies. However, it didn't take very long before the man caught something, slamming down his free hand and bellowing out fiercely,
OBJECTION! <-- Click it
The prosecution and the witness reeled back in shock, Theodore "Godot" Castagnier setting the wheels in motion, as he did his job as "Ace Attorney" for the day. He was pinpointing every detail at every angle, giving no room for the witness, or even the rivaling lawyer to slip by. He was labeled as one of the best attorneys for a reason. And he was certainly meeting up to expectations.
"There's no use in you dodging it any longer. Your water-tight alibi is full of holes, you've tried time and time again to deceive the court of your testimony, as well as MY patience! Furthermore, if you still think I can't prove it, you're reaction to all of this is proof enough! Your posture, your expression, the sweat on your brow, the very tone in your voice! Needless to say...", he proclaimed as he lashed a finger at the witness.
"YOU are the one who committed the crime! YOU attempted to frame my friend in your place, and YOU have diminished every bit of "justice" that could have possibly helped you in this situation! No alibi, no justice, no dreams, no HOPE! It's time you paid for your crimes!!"
The entire court was put into shock and awe, the prosecution and its client could not help but concede before him. His friend sat there, his jaw practically dropping to the table as he stared up at his friend, not even hearing the ultimate verdict. As the judge declared the case ultimately in his favor, he finally piped up again. "Y-you...j-just...H-HOW did you do that!?" The hybrid took another sip of his coffee before replying.
"Men that are trapped by the chains of "Maybe"...can never reach their dreams. It is solely with this that I do what I do. You are one of my closest friends, and in my dreams, everyone who is close in my heart are all smiling and laughing happily together. Even those who have already moved on..."
He would take one last sip, before helping his friend up, walking out of the courtroom alongside him. "In my world, the color red does not exist. It is very unfortunate, however, in such cases like these, I will never fall back. For the only time a lawyer can cry, is when it's over.." The friend in blinked a couple times and began to question, before Theo smiled and continued. "And believe me...it's not gonna be over anytime soon."
