In Greek mythology, Medusa was a human priestess of Athena who was raped by Poseidon. Athena was angered, but had no power over Poseidon. So, she took out her rage on Medusa.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the mythology, these designs that I'm working on are sort of a parody/twist on the old mythology. I designed some of the characters to be a twist on what people are used to seeing, just for fun.
