Just curious, why do you feel the need for a chainlink fence around your yard. Did you buy/rent the house with it there already or have it put in? I sorta understand putting a fence around the backyard for some privacy and seclusion but I never understood why people did it in their front yards.
lazy vandals is right, the fence is more of a detour X3 enough to make them go "ehhhh next house"
our garden hose has not been cut since the fence went in (happeed like 4 times) no more xmas lights stolen/cut/bulbs removed, potted plants missing, Halloween decorations stolen, Xmas display knocked over, etc
buttttt since my mom likes to decorate in front of the fence vandals have still on seperate occasions: stolen rope lights off the arch, knocked the arch over and have stole a large cat shaped pot

A similar incident happened to my home last year, where some dude who was hella high off of something crashed through our damn gate wall and hit one of our trees. The guy somehow survived with nothing more than cosmetic injuries, and the damage was pretty akin to that... I'm sorry, that must've been pretty damn scary.
ok saw the video and all i can say is
WHAT THE FUCK
and....
WHAT A DUMBASS
yea his insurance should cover damage to property, thats part of what insurance covers under liability. Property = car or yard or whatever. Just don't let the adjuster screw you on the settlement, don't take the first check they try to send, get as much as u can ;p

Dat der is just a fine display of driving skill, unfortunately I gotta take points off for not smashing into a fruit stand or a parked car though... Not to mention the driver not claiming that said object jumped out in-front of them or something like that... tsk tsk.. how can he ever expect to be as good a driver as the elderly!
But honestly though, its lucky that they didn't hit your house or anything extremely important, a fence can always be fixed easily enough, lets hope the driver gets adequate punishment for that kind of driving.

I wanna know too, I think the guy should have been interrigated more, the cop hardly spoke to him, merely told us he drifted into the lane, and even the report says "unexplained"
if not under the influence he had to have been texting or alseep to drift from one lane, clear through another lane, and then through our yard like that!

You have gotta be like at LEAST the third or fourth person I've known/known of online who had this happen. I need to stop watching artists online. I'm like bad luck or something. >_>;;
Seriously, though, all of the comments here and on YouTube saying that they had the same thing happen scares me... It doesn't surprise me as much as it should, though. We REALLY need to get our shit together in this country as far as lawless driving is concerned. It might help if our cops weren't practically useless. We've had our house broken into twice, and had at least two or three attempted break-ins. Two of which I actually RAN INTO said intruders before they hauled ass out of our home. Suffice to say the least, we've had a security system put in. -__-; To get to the point though, in each case, the cops really didn't give a shit. It took them at LEAST ten minutes to get here in one case, and TWENTY in another. My mother was here in between four and six minutes each time. Keep in mind the cops were alerted FIRST, and they were fairly close by... My mother was all the fuckin' way on the other side of town. And she wasn't speeding. WTF.
As for this asshat with the kids, god... I'm willing to bet he was trying to abduct them from their mother or something. He was probably the deadbeat excuse for a father. My niece's so-called father tried this shit on at least one occasion, thankfully she was safely returned to us. This actually reminds me all too creepily similar of something that happened to a friend I used to have... Shitbag came barreling into her home at like 3AM with a baby in tow, I think he was high as a kite. Thankfully, the child was okay. I can't remember if the guy was injured or not, I think only fairly mildly.

Please, make another journal with what the heck happened to cause him to do that to your yard! Especially that poor arch. :( That looks very expensive to replace. In the end, I'm just glad that nobody was hurt (Except your owl getting roughed up). This guy is DEFINITELY in trouble; Child Endangerment, Reckless Driving, failure to maintain control, and if you wanted to throw the whole book at him, trespassing and attempted assault with a deadly weapon. I hope this guy serves some time behind bars for this, especially for the child endangerment part.
Can't wait for stuff like this against furries to be considered Hate Crimes... Will you be needing any donations to help, Beastcub?

on the bright side she didn't tear through your house or your work room. something we are all thankful for. i've seen news of cars crashing through walls of houses in sacramento's surrounding areas.
usually drivers who don't know nor care to be careful when roads are slippery after first rain after its been dry for a bit. not to mention sense enough to have someone else drive when they've had a few.
life will go on. important thing is you and your family, sister, mother, dogs, cats, chickens, are all right.
i certainly know how it would be possible for this to not ever happen, if certain interests, that somehow enough people are gullible enough to go along with, didn't insist on everyone having to be indentured to a damd automobile, instead of allowing enough support to develop for adiquite alternatives.
