I've been working on the drawing that my boyfriend suggested but it's been kind of tough. It's not super complicated, but it involves having his webbed wings wrapped around me and I haven't really drawn webbed wings before and drawing them folded like that has been pretty tough. So I took a break.

I did this quick little doodle in an effort to release all the cute in my head surrounding this character into one tiny disgustingly cute little manticore.

I used to draw a lot of anime characters when I was a kid. If the Japanese are good at in terms of image, they are good at making things look as cute as possible. So much of my growth in drawing figures was influenced with anime. That's how I learned to draw people and while I try to give my drawings a more American animation (like Disney or Universal) feel I'm sure that anime shows up in it, particularly expressions and interactions. I like doing cute, so my thoughts go back to anime when their posture or behavior is cute.

I don't like anime anymore, but I love cute and I guess I should just reach for what is best.
