dunno if buggy, they got updated to please the nesesities of the reapers, they are like advanced husks, stripped away from any kind of life they had, to work in unison to a hive mind.
collectors are more like..robots, than bugs I guess, I think thye are full carapce to sustain more damage than true protheans
