An adoptable protection dog by  Cautiontail

Zan Zheng is a protection dog who fails at protection. She is clumsy, always tripping over her own paws and getting her mane in her eyes. She's growing steadily weaker and more insane as she goes longer without protecting anything. She wants to be better and she wants to find a small family to protect, but every time she tries something terrible happens.

The first place she protected was a small Japanese playground in Nagasaki. She was pinned down when the atomic bomb fell and was unable to save anyone. That was the beginning of the end for her. From then on, she's been spiraling downward, though she tries to remain optimistic.

Note: I use "she" but Zan is a hermaphrodite.
