I've been drawing sharks a lot lately. This one in particular is a female carcharodon megalodon named Angel from Steve Alten's MEG series. It's basically about how a Navy submersible pilot discovered the ancient shark species in the Mariana Trench. They were ancestors to the modern day great white shark and were far bigger. Angel is about 72 feet long and weighs 62,000 lbs. She is the daughter of the first megalodon that escaped from the Mariana Trench and the only one of her mother's offspring that survived.

Anyway, I better shut up before I ramble on too much :p It's a great series and I recommend it. There are currently 3 books in the series MEG, The Trench and Primal Waters. A 4th book, Hell's Aquarium is in production and is supposed to be released before the MEG movie comes to theaters next summer. <3 I can't wait to see it.
