So I draw a lot of raptors.
These are some of the ones I could find anyways :3
Just wanted to share more sketches and things with you guys since my gallery gets lonely sometimes and I'd really love to keep it more updated. Most of these drawn without reference, some with. I also draw at work every chance I get, so I'll have more "doodling on the job" for you soon.
Oh yeah, and a lot of this was practice for this never-to-be-finished scene in my scraps:

omg, freakin' Dinosaur was one of my favorite Disney movies everrr. I totally had to get it both on VHS and 2 disc special edition DVD and now I gotta go get in on Blu-Ray whenever I get a Blu-Ray player. I can't get enough of it's awesomeness; it's BRILLIANT for animation reference... and one of the first movies to combine cartoony CG with filmed backgrounds. Such an awesome and sadly forgotten about film.
I cannot wait to see the concept art for this! Are you planning to build it this year in time for RMFC (of you're going again that is)?

Aww thanks so much
Sure! You'd be welcome to use them as reference.
Practicing poses? It just takes practice! |DD You can try doing drawing studies- like focus on one specific part you need improvement on, like hands or heads or something, and then draw it over and over and over using reference as a guide from multiple angles until you're more comfortable with it. You can try more gesture-like sketches too. Sometimes I even use myself and a mirror (or camera) for pose reference, even for raptors it can show you a thing or two about perspective and foreshortening. Also try to buy or perhaps loosely sculpt a maquette of a raptor, or whatever else you're drawing, so you can examine it from multiple angles to further your understanding of forms in space and practice drawing some more!
