Picked up this awesome lookign army cap from a stand at the yamaguchi flea market for 2000 yen. It is in decent condition and I think it is from WW2 Perhaps a naval garrison cap.

Yeah! That wheel is a steam engine driven wheel. The bottom crescent is the counter weight for the transmission shaft that connects to the small circle above the center. As to what appears to be leaves I haven't got a clue. Maybe it has something to do with the district to which it referred originally.
