Now that I uploaded my commission, I can upload this. It's just me, and an experiment in digital painting and letting loose as much as i could the preconceptions of my mind towards painting. Digital painting is a very peculiar thing and I am still attempting to grasp it. Colors are weird yes, but oh well. And this is me. Rarer and rarer are the moments when I experience such freedom. And rarer still when it's in a natural body of water, but there's nothing like looking at your world around me, my lifespan one minute long until I breathe again, all blue everywhere, and floating almost silently, and flying free through this environment, not even needing a cloud to stand on. Oh, and I wear a swim cap and goggles. :>
That is a terrifyingly huge mass of water in the background though, it looks as if I'm hundreds of feet down--need to work on scaling and sizing relative to various subjects in a painting. And sorry for weird pony proportions, it's REALLY weird. I'm still practicing... ;.;
If you can believe it, I am sort of afraid of UNDERWATER heights. *shivers* Ocean is too big. This was a fun and freeing project to do though. :)
p.s. did I say I was eternally open for commissions? Shameless. c:
...please ;_; hee.

This is beautiful. :) I love how the colours came out, and the water surface is lovely and the lil bubbles, and eeee pony with swimming cap and goggles is just too cute. ^^ I get what you mean about 'underwater heights' too, swimming in the deep open ocean like that has got to be pretty intimidating, as you say it's just so huge!
Funny isn't it? I am not afraid really. It's just that I can't control what happens under me, if there's a lot of open volume. I don't like not being able to hide/move somewhere if there's an intimidating barracuda or something. I'd rather be able to see only like 20 feet ahead of me, instead of the vastness of the ocean @_X; and interestingly, I'm also uptight when I can't see like three feet ahead of me either in murky water. XDDD Or, I'd be fine if I could hide by a reef or wall. But open ocean... *shiver!*
Wow! Used to be in the navy and had open ocean around me. I remember swimming when the ship stopped for a steel beach ( at sea cookout) party and we had a swim call. 2 miles deep of water and looking down into the sea to where it went from blue to black. Its an eerie feeling. The water mid ocean is clear and beautiful! But it was kind of creepy to accept to swim under the ship from one side to another and look down and see the blue fade to black and no bottom.
