She dances for the good of her tribe, around and around the sacred fire, enticing the spirit within to come forth. If she succeeds in wooing the spirit with her dance all of her tribe will be blessed with health and prosperity for many seasons. If she fails, the fire will consume her whole. But she is confident in her dancing, transfixed upon the fire, calling it forth with her movements. She will not fail, for her heart is made of fire as well.
Second in the "Sacred Elements" series I am doing on commission for a wonderful couple. I really love how this came out, even though I struggled with it for almost two years XP This painting fought me every step of the way but I won! XD *falls over*
This is the same tribe of wolf people as the wolf in "Sacred Waters", and "Sacred Winds" and "Sacred Earth" will be likewise. I may end up doing something with this tribe, I am not sure yet. We will see!

Gawd, I can hardly believe I have the nerve to critique such an astounding piece, but here goes...
One detail that catches my eye: the 'rounded' end to her tail. Each time I look at it, I think, "that should taper out wispily, like a wolf's tail".
A kinda ridiculous and subjective quibble to make about a fantasy creature, but... well, there it is. The rest of the world may disagree. :)

This is just amazing. Your work is always so intricate and full of minute details. I love all the interesting things that are taking place and all the different elements in it. It speaks to me because I am part Native American. Love how you have blended the Phoenix seamlessly into the fire. The multitude of colors and textures is beautiful and amazing. Just so much amazing and cool taking place here all at the same time.
Your style is very similar to Dark Natasha's you are both extremely amazing and talented artists. May you never lose this amazing gift you have been given!
Have most excellent day and may you have no difficulties with the rest of this commission.
