What you're (barely) seeing is a flying peacock. Having assumed, what with the heavy and clumsy tail and all, they couldn't fly, I unwisely turned my back on 9 or 10 peacocks. I didn't have time to bring my camera up as a wall of agitated feathers launched itself at me, and only managed to snap one as they scattered.

IN all fairness, they evidently can't actually fly straight and for long distances. Little things like trees and innocent bystanders tend to get in the way.
