Being in a good mood, I was worried I'd get struck by something profound and utterly depressing. Instead, I found myself first disagreeing, thinking that most furs I know are no better than your average mundane, and in many cases, worse. We can be just as deceitful, unloyal, and cruel, despite the proclaimed separation from humanity to whatever degree that many feel somehow unconsciously proud of.
And then I realized that what you were describing was, in a strange way, not only the very ideal that drew me to furriness in the first place (but not the fandom), but also of a sort of alienation that drew me to the fandom (but not furriness). We might not always do that great at achieving the things we admire in animals but, at least to some degree, we've all united in the pursuit of that goal. Strangely, that's encouraging.
Insightful as ever, and as usual, very thought-provoking. Thanks, Garr.
On a side note, I still think you're voice is TOO incredible. I actually regularly have to transcribe what you say so I can read it and actually think about the content without getting hypnotized and suddenly realizing I've reached the end of the sound clip and I didn't actually process a single word :P.

If anything has to be said about the truth of humanity, it is said through this audiolog. Are we like we are because we despise the animal-instinct of the majority of humanity to shun the abnormal, and we join up into the fandom to say we are different, and let us welcome the diversity? That is what I'd like to think, because I have met some of the most tollerant; some of the nicest, kind-hearted people from the fandom, while the majority of society shuns us for having a deviant lust for animals. Not all of us are, and for those of us that do posses this attraction, go ahead. I welcome the diversity of society, for it is the only thing that keeps humans from feeling alone in the world.
