This was the original cover art plan for the comic Six and I were going to do. This is an anthro version of a famous WWII photo.

Six said the photo I used as reference (which he supplied) is a famous WWII pic and that everyone would recognize it. I honestly don't think it's as recognizable as he thinks. He is a WWII freak after all. But, anyway, he chose that pic because it "shows the hardships of war on the soldier's face". Glad you think I got it.
I seriously doubt it, unfortunately. Considering this was done a little over 2 years ago and I haven't talked to or seen Six in about 6 months at least, I would be very surprised if we were to do anymore work on this. Six was going to do the writing and story side and I was going to do the art based off of his writing, but he has totally fallen off the map and I'm not going to be doing any art without someone providing me story. I don't even know if Six is still part of the fandom anymore...
Sorry, rambling...

You're right. I'm wondering what is the reason. Looking at the date of june 1945 we know that the war was over month before. Maybe he's sad because he loose his country. Or he is now in southeastern Germany because she was escaped from soviet offense in the north... By the way cool picture! I want to find full comic of this.
I can understand why he is sad, for one thing his home was either captured or destroyed along with family and friends, two was FORCED into the service, so he would rather be away from the hell he is in...most German soldiers were kids, people fail to realize that, but moves always portray them as heartless killers, the were not, they deserve to be honored as much as any American life lost...remember them as well.
Aye... German soldiers in WWII all too often get lumped into the media-universal villains that are nazis. It is really unfortunate that all Germany has to offer is nazidom according to popular media and that any German who is proud of being a German is immediately under suspicion.
